When you walk into a psychiatry appointment, you’ll usually be given an intake form to fill out. At my practice, I don’t just file those papers away—I actually read them thoroughly before you arrive. This allows me to “hit the ground running” when we meet. Too often, I’ve seen forms get returned in other offices only to be skimmed over. That’s one of the reasons I started my own practice—I wanted clients to feel truly heard from the very beginning.
Think of it like Sherlock Holmes reviewing clues. By the time you sit down, I already know your main concern from your intake. Then I’ll ask you, in your own words, to share a quick “nutshell” of the main symptoms that are interfering with your life right now. This helps us immediately identify your goals for treatment.
